Workforce Solutions in a Child Care Crisis: Regional Summit presented by AultCare

This crisis affects everyone. Economic studies show that the absence of quality child care for children under three results in a yearly loss of $5.48 billion in earnings, productivity, and revenue in the State of Ohio.

The Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Great Start for Great Futures Coalition and Groundwork Ohio, invites employers, community leaders and child care experts from across our region to explore innovative, employer and community-driven solutions that support working families and strengthen our workforce including the child care workforce.

Presentation topics include:

• Framing the Issue: The Child Care Crisis in Our Community: Current data and insights on access, affordability, and the impact on families and the workforce.
  
  
• Legislative Perspectives: Policies & Pathways to Change: Policy makers share proposed legislation, advocacy efforts, and related priorities
  
  
• Family Voices: Real Stories, Real Impact: A panel of parents and caregivers share personal stories about the challenges of finding reliable, affordable child care.
  
  
• Business Solutions: How Employers and Communities Are Responding: Communities and employers share best practices, including flexible schedules, on-site child care, partnerships with providers, or subsidies.
  
  
• Collaborative Discussion: Building a Path Forward: An interactive session to equip attendees with resources and ideas for local action.

This event will help strengthen connections across Stark and surrounding counties – Carroll, Columbiana, Holmes, Portage, Summit and Tuscarawas. Our goal is to create practical solutions that support the workforce, economy, and communities in our region.
