John will break down what the BWC Special Investigations Department (SID) does and explain the services SID offers to employers regarding Workers' Comp fraud or abuse.

BIO: John Blust currently works as a Special Agent in the Northeast Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Special Investigations.  John investigates fraudulent activities and crimes against the Ohio BWC in 22 counties surrounding the Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown, and Mansfield Service Offices. John joined the Ohio BWC Special Investigation Department in September 2008.  John has successfully investigated hundreds of cases including several high-profile cases in the Cleveland area.  John has specialized training in the area of covert surveillance electronics, interview and interrogation, urban and rural surveillance and is an Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) instructor in ASP Baton, OC Spray, Firearms, and Defensive Tactics. John has been involved in law enforcement for over 27 years and currently works as a patrolman with the City of Reminderville Police Department. John graduated from Kent State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
