Join us for an amazing luncheon and Awards banquet honoring YOU on Wednesday, September 11 at MAPS Air Museum. Top Gun Pilot John Cartledge, will fly in and taxi to MAPS upon arrival (weather permitting).

The Awards banquet will recognize Stark County Safety Council members for their dedication to safety in the workplace and community. Guests can explore the MAPS Museum before and after the event. Don't miss out on this special monthly luncheon – register now!

BIO: LCDR Jonathan “AILR” Cartledge

A native of Brecksville, Ohio, LCDR Cartledge graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2005, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He was selected to attend Officer Candidate School and commissioned in Pensacola, Florida, in 2006, and designated a naval aviator at Naval Air Station (NAS) Kingsville, in May 2009. 

LCDR Cartledge stayed with Training Squadron (VT) 21 “Redhawks” as a Selectively Retained Graduate (SERGRAD) instructing in the T-45A/C Goshawk and in May 2010, reported to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he completed his initial training in the F/A-18E Super Hornet.  LCDR Cartledge began his operational flying in July 2011, with the “Sunliners” of VFA-81 where he deployed aboard the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. 

In July 2014, LCDR Cartledge attended the Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor Course (TOPGUN) at NAS Fallon. Following his graduation, he reported as an instructor to Strike Fighter Weapons School Pacific (SFWSP). During his time at SFWSP, he served as Training/ Standardization Officer and the west coast Standoff Weapons Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Post completion of his weapons school tour, LCDR Cartledge reported to the “Redcocks” of VFA-22 as the training officer deploying aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. In December 2018, he reported to the “River Rattlers” of Fighter Composite Squadron (VFC) 204 as a Selected Reservist (SELRES) pilot. 

LCDR Cartledge has accumulated over 2,500 flight hours with 347 carrier arrested landings. His personal decorations include the Strike/Flight Air Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy Achievement Medal (2 Awards), and various unit and campaign awards. He resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife Katie.
