About
In Stark County, approximately 400 children are within the foster care system, and nearly a quarter of these are teens at risk of aging out without securing a permanent family. Recognizing this gap, our organization provides targeted support to these vulnerable teens through a comprehensive group home program designed to equip them for independent living.
We Provide:
1. Life Skills Training: Offering classes on essential skills such as budgeting, cooking, and job searching, including driver’s license assistance and supervised driving practice.
2. Educational Support: Providing tutoring and mentorship within the group home to aid teens in completing their education and accessing higher education or vocational training.
3. Emotional and Mental Health Support: Facilitating access to counseling and support groups to help teens process their experiences. Our services include therapy sessions, peer support, and crisis intervention.
4. Housing Assistance: Maintaining a safe and supportive group home that provides teens with the stability needed as they prepare for independent living.
5. Career Development: Offering programs in job readiness and internships, as well as partnerships with local businesses to create pathways to employment.
6. Healthcare Access: Assisting teens in managing their healthcare needs, from navigating healthcare systems to scheduling appointments and understanding personal health.
